(…) A good brand is important because it conveys visually the library’s “story” in a very quick way. The library’s story is the articulation of why the library matters to its community. The goal of branding is to tell the same story about the library over and over and over. Eventually, the people who use the library will learn the story and seeing the brand will remind them of the story without having to say anything. The brand essentially becomes short-hand for everything it represents. It is a powerful tool for conveying information and reminding people why the library is important. In today’s world in which people challenge the importance of libraries, it is critical to convey quickly and effectively why libraries matter. A good brand can be an important tool to do. (…)
